Plan pet travel
on Condor.

Check the exact flight, animal space and route restrictions before paying.

For Condor-operated journeys. Canadian tariff and U.S. service-animal rules have separate geographic scopes. Independent planning guidance, not acceptance or border clearance.

Before paying

Prepare dates, flight numbers, operating airlines, animal species, breed, age, carrier dimensions and combined weight. Obtain written acceptance attached to the booking, confirmed animal space, the complete charge and airport deadlines. Check each connecting operator separately.

Cabin and hold

Condor’s pet page covers dogs and cats; other species require a Customer Service enquiry, not assumed acceptance. Cabin: maximum 8 kg including carrier, kept closed under the seat with room for natural movement. The website gives 55 × 40 × 23 cm; the linked acceptance checklist gives 55 × 40 × 20 cm. Resolve this discrepancy before buying a carrier. Pets cannot occupy A330neo Business Class, exit rows or seats behind partitions.

Hold: published carrier sizes are 80 × 55 × 100 cm or 125 × 75 × 100 cm. Confirm aircraft compatibility and weight acceptance. Book cabin carriage online by 24 hours before departure; hold carriage by 48 hours, supplying dimensions, combined weight and dog breed. Use the pet page’s booking link or Customer Service. Charges depend on route and carrier size.

Flight capacity and shared carriers

The general conditions allow one animal per passenger, subject to space, and one animal per carrier. Sharing a carrier, including mixing species, therefore is not permitted. General pages describe limited cabin and hold capacity without a number. The Canada tariff, applicable between Canada and points outside Canada, states six cabin animals per flight, with service dogs prioritized, and aircraft-dependent hold capacity. Do not apply six as a worldwide quota. Ask Condor about available space and any same-flight species separation for your flight.

Restrictions and source differences

The pet conditions restrict hold carriage to Condor nonstop flights. A pricing example nevertheless discusses transfers: do not infer that an animal can be transferred. Published conditions prohibit ordinary pets to/from Antigua, China, Dubai, Great Britain, Jamaica, Mauritius, Panama, Sharjah and South Africa; the Barbados restriction concerns cruise flights numbered DE3xxx. Hold exclusions also cover Egypt, Beirut, Yerevan and seasonal Las Vegas/Sulaymaniyah flights. Pricing lists conflict with some route exclusions. Confirm the exact flight and date.

Check the linked breed exclusions, including mixed and snub-nosed breeds, and minimum age rules: generally four months; seven months from non-listed third countries into the EU. These are airline conditions, not a complete government-entry checklist. They exclude commercial animal carriage. Do not extend ordinary-pet restrictions automatically to service dogs.

Carrier preparation and check-in

Bring the completed, printed Live Animal Acceptance Checklist. It includes cabin, hold and service-dog sections. It calls for four-sided ventilation and natural standing, turning and lying space; hold carriers also need a waterproof base, absorbent lining, and feeding/water facilities. Read the whole checklist before purchasing a carrier. Animals are checked in on departure day.

Service dogs: request and onboard requirements

Condor’s assistance page accepts trained service dogs without an additional carriage fee, subject to destination rules. Its published advance-registration rule is at least 48 hours before departure through the assistance form or Customer Service; see the U.S. late-booking exception below. Condor handles DE-numbered flights and sends written confirmation. Other flight numbers require the relevant airline. Recommended airport arrival: two hours for short-haul, three for long-haul.

The dog must remain in the footwell, controlled, non-aggressive, responsive and able to toilet in a controlled way; no sedation. The page recommends a leash for take-off, landing and seatbelt-sign periods, and requires it throughout U.S. flights. The checklist prohibits blocking aisles or exits. The reviewed assistance page states no numeric dog limit or muzzle rule: request itinerary-specific confirmation.

Condor names ADI and IGDF as training examples, not a universal certification guarantee. Outside the U.S./Canada scopes below, its page does not explain a separate owner-trained acceptance route. Ask about the actual trainer evidence required.

U.S. flights: forms and individual training

For flights to/from the U.S., Condor requires the DOT Service Animal Air Transportation Form, plus the Relief Attestation for flights of eight hours or more. The FAQ says “longer than” eight hours, but its main rule and DOT use eight or more. Use the main threshold.

The linked DOT form explicitly allows handlers who trained their own dog to provide their own trainer details; it does not require a training certificate. Its instructions also protect bookings made within 48 hours from mandatory advance form submission. Contact Condor promptly about submission.

U.S. DOT distinguishes disability-task-trained dogs, including psychiatric service dogs, from emotional-support animals. ESA status alone does not qualify. Acceptance still depends on behavior, safe accommodation, required forms and entry rules; it is not automatic.

Canada scope

Condor’s Canada tariff, effective April 21, 2026, recognizes training by an organization or an individual specializing in service-dog training. It requires a declaration at reservation and trainer-issued identification or other documentation before departure. Its assistance notice provisions may require documents at least 48 hours ahead, including a full business day; ask early about the applicable process. It promises reasonable efforts when notice or documents are late, not guaranteed acceptance. The tariff excludes emotional-support animals from service-animal acceptance. See the Canada guide’s separate conditional emotional-support accommodation discussion; this tariff wording is not a complete statement of Canadian accommodation obligations or a promise of acceptance.

Contacts and forms

Condor’s U.S. English contact page lists +1 866 960 7915, available 24 hours. Use the service-dog page for assistance registration and the current DOT form links. Confirm the correct submission channel rather than treating a downloaded form as a booking.

Government entry is a separate check

Verify departure, transit, destination and return veterinary rules with the relevant authorities, including for service dogs. Airline acceptance does not grant entry clearance.

For the U.S., use CDC’s dog-entry decision path: requirements depend on vaccination location and countries visited during the previous six months. Condor additionally publishes a refusal for dogs with recent high-risk-country history; a government entry pathway does not override an airline restriction. Obtain route-specific clarification rather than relying on the airline page’s older country-entry summary.
