Plan the flight around your cat

Cat transport involves more than choosing a flight with a pet option. Carrier dimensions, the operating airline, transit arrangements, destination rules, and the number of cats traveling all affect the plan.

We organize international cat transport to and from the United States and our other destinations, with or without the owner traveling. The travel format and included services are agreed before booking. Cabin travel may be possible on some routes; an alternative arrangement may be needed on others.

Check the carrier before booking

Share your cat’s weight, standing height, and body length, plus the size of any carrier you already have. For cabin travel, check the complete carrier dimensions against the operating airline’s limits. For another flight arrangement, confirm the appropriate container with the airline.

Allow time for your cat to become familiar with the carrier. Discuss health or travel-related concerns with your veterinarian. The CDC pet travel resource is a useful starting point for preparation.

Moving with more than one cat

Give us the details for each cat separately. We review carrier arrangements and airline availability for the whole group, rather than assuming that a booking for one pet covers the others.

  • A separate set of identification and health records for each cat.
  • Pet acceptance and carrier arrangements confirmed with the airline.
  • A clear plan for check-in, any connections, and collection.
  • The names of the people traveling with or receiving the cats.

Cat entry rules are different from dog rules

Do not use a dog-entry checklist for a cat. CDC says cats are not required to show proof of rabies vaccination for U.S. importation, but state or territory requirements may differ. Cats that appear ill may need examination, and Hawaii and Guam have their own quarantine rules.

Check CDC’s current animal import guidance, the destination state or territory, and the operating airline. For international departures, use the USDA destination-country resource with your veterinarian.

Tell us about the move

Send the departure and arrival cities, preferred dates, your cat’s breed and age, weight, and the records already available. Tell us whether you will be on the same flight and whether other pets are traveling too.

We will assess the route and prepare a proposal for the transport services you need. See what affects pet relocation costs before comparing quotes.
