Pets
Soft carrier: 50 × 40 × 20 cm; ventilated, leakproof, with room to stand, turn and lie naturally. One animal per carrier; no species mixing. Minimum age: eight weeks. Keep it closed through terminal arrival. See the directory for weight, passenger/flight quotas, routes and check-in.
Assistance dogs
The dedicated assistance page requires documented guide-dog training, an identifying jacket and harness and continuous control. Qualifying guide/assistance dogs travel free. Request assistance at least 48 hours beforehand and attend airport check-in.
An official FAQ’s indexed text describes broader categories, including emotional-support animals with ADI/IGDF-member certification. This does not resolve the narrower dedicated page. Do not assume ESA acceptance or universal certification requirements.
Before payment, obtain written confirmation of your dog’s category, training evidence, route eligibility, notice, any form, passenger/flight quotas and approved placement/restraints. Ask specifically about individually trained dogs. No independently verified route-specific alternative or application form is established here.
Airline contacts
Start with the special-assistance request on Volotea’s official page. It lists +34 93 12 25 224 for calls from outside Spain, France and Italy; use the airline’s local help channel within those countries. Ask for confirmation attached to the booking.
Before paying
Prepare the travel dates, operating carrier for each leg, animal category, carrier measurements and combined weight. Ask the airline to confirm availability, the current total animal charge, payment channel and check-in deadline for your departure airport. A passenger ticket alone should not be treated as proof that an animal has been accepted.
Entry checks
Check departure, transit and destination veterinary requirements separately with the relevant government authorities. Airline acceptance does not replace entry clearance. This guide supplies no country-specific exemption.
