PETS DELIVERY EXPERT
In-cabin transport for brachycephalic dogs
Individual in-cabin transport for brachycephalic, or flat-faced, dogs, including larger companions. We coordinate commercial-flight or private-jet arrangements and, when needed, plan an alternative route around your timing and your dog’s needs.
Start with your cities, dates and dog’s details. Measurements and existing bookings are helpful if known.
In-cabin transport, planned around your dog
Your French Bulldog, Pug or other flat-faced dog needs a travel plan that fits their individual circumstances. Pets Delivery Expert organizes their international transport in the cabin, bringing together flight arrangements, travel-document coordination and the agreed handovers.
We assess commercial flights and private-jet arrangements according to your dog’s size, the route and the conditions each operator will accept. We welcome enquiries for destinations worldwide and check what is feasible for the specific journey. Tell us where your dog needs to go and when, and we will work through the available in-cabin arrangements with you.
Commercial flights and private jets
Commercial flights. We coordinate individual cabin arrangements with the operating airline, including for larger dogs. The accepted plan must be confirmed for the actual flight; a passenger ticket on its own does not confirm your dog’s place. We check the airline’s applicable breed, carrier and other transport requirements as part of that process.
Private jets. Where a private-flight arrangement is being considered, we assess the operator, aircraft, cabin arrangements and route for your dog. It still requires acceptance by the operator and compliance with the relevant entry and transit requirements. We set out the proposed service and its conditions before you decide.
These are individual arrangements. IATA explains that airlines and countries set their own requirements, so permission on one journey should not be assumed to cover another.
An individual assessment for a flat-faced dog
Brachycephalic means short-headed or flat-faced. Dogs with this anatomy can have breathing difficulties and may be more affected by heat and travel stress. The American Veterinary Medical Association explains these risks and recommends discussing a short-nosed dog’s respiratory health with a veterinarian before air travel.
Your veterinarian assesses your dog’s fitness to travel. We use the relevant travel requirements to plan the transport, including time at airports and the agreed ground handovers. An in-cabin arrangement still needs both veterinary assessment and operator acceptance.
Breed, mix and size rules need a precise check
Tell us the recorded breed and any known mix. Airline lists can extend beyond the breeds owners usually associate with a flat face. Lufthansa’s passenger-hold restrictions for listed snub-nosed breeds also cover their crosses; its cabin eligibility is assessed under separate conditions. Each operator’s wording must be checked separately.
For commercial cabin travel, weight is only one part of eligibility. For example, Lufthansa’s cabin policy sets an 8 kg limit including the carrier and maximum dimensions of 55 × 40 × 23 cm. The dog must also be able to stand naturally, lie down and turn without restriction. These are Lufthansa’s conditions, not a universal allowance.
Our carrier measurement guide explains which measurements to prepare. The Lufthansa pet transport guide provides further airline-specific context.
Check the whole itinerary before booking
If the first itinerary does not fit your dog or your timing, we review alternative routes, airports and dates. We bring the flight schedule, connections and agreed handovers into one coordinated plan, including collection or onward delivery where included in the agreed service. Worldwide enquiries are assessed for the actual route, with entry and transit requirements considered alongside the cabin arrangements.
Airline terminology also matters. Hold transport as checked or excess baggage and separately booked air freight have different acceptance processes. Lufthansa distinguishes these from cabin travel. A hold restriction or a cargo policy does not establish cabin eligibility. Pets Delivery Expert’s service for flat-faced dogs is arranged in the cabin.
Coordinate documents with the travel plan
Arrange your dog’s fitness-to-travel assessment with your veterinarian early enough for it to inform the plan. A health document does not replace the operator’s acceptance.
We help organise the transport-related checklist and coordinate the documents needed for the agreed route. The departure, transit and destination requirements must all be checked; your veterinarian and the relevant authorities remain responsible for their assessments and official documents. IATA’s travel guidance explains why country and airline requirements need individual attention. Our pet travel guides provide further planning background.
Start with a few details
For your first enquiry, send us:
- The origin and destination cities and countries
- Your dog’s breed or known mix, age and current weight
- Your preferred dates and flexibility
- Whether you plan to travel with your dog
We then ask for measurements, carrier details and document status as needed. You do not need to book a flight or buy a carrier to start the conversation.
The proposal sets out the in-cabin arrangements, included services and outstanding confirmations. Once agreed, we coordinate the booking and handover arrangements within that scope. Read about what affects pet shipping costs.
Questions about flat-faced dog transport
Can my French Bulldog or Pug travel in the cabin?
We assess in-cabin arrangements for flat-faced dogs on commercial flights or private jets. The individual dog, operator, route and veterinary assessment determine which options can be considered.
What if my dog exceeds a commercial airline’s cabin limits?
We review individually agreed cabin arrangements on suitable commercial services and private-jet options, including an alternative route where helpful. The operator must confirm acceptance for your dog and the actual itinerary before the arrangement is treated as confirmed.
Can you arrange travel to any country?
We welcome worldwide route enquiries. The available in-cabin arrangements depend on operator acceptance, aircraft availability and the entry and transit rules for that journey.
Do I need to travel with my dog?
Tell us whether you will accompany your dog. We will assess the available in-cabin arrangements and agree who accompanies them as part of the plan. See transport without the owner.
