Allow for slower online services
DAFF notice 219-2026, dated October 20, schedules infrastructure maintenance for October 22, 2026, from 21:00 to 23:00 AEDT (10:00–12:00 UTC; 05:00–07:00 in Cancún). PEBS and the Online Payment Service are among the affected systems. Pages may load slowly or fail intermittently; the notice does not announce a complete outage.
Plan bookings and payments outside the window
This affects cat and dog importers using PEBS and clients making online payments. DAFF advises waiting until the maintenance period ends before accessing these services. Avoid scheduling time-sensitive online booking or payment work within the window, and check the official notice for changes.
This is an operational notice, not a change to animal-import requirements. See our Australia pet import guide for the wider preparation and quarantine-booking process.
