Plan animal travel
on Air Serbia.

Resolve animal acceptance and route-specific evidence before buying travel.

Independent planning guidance, not a booking confirmation or complete government-entry checklist.

1. Prepare the journey

Before purchasing, record the operating carrier for every segment, dates, animal age and measurements, carrier measurements and any assistance tasks. Ask for written acceptance identifying the animal and flight. Keep airline acceptance separate from border admission.

2. Cabin pets and fees

Cabin cats/dogs must exceed 12 weeks; total animal/carrier weight ≤8 kg; dimensions sum ≤94 cm. One carrier/passenger; up to two littermates, but China permits one animal/carrier/adult. Mixed-species sharing is not established. Use a ventilated, secure, leakproof carrier allowing standing, turning and lying; keep the animal fully inside, underseat.

Request through Contact Centre, branches or authorized agents, providing species, weight and dimensions. Passenger reservations must be confirmed; unaccompanied minors cannot bring pets. Animals must be nonaggressive and free of offensive odor. Obtain every operator’s approval. No numeric flight quota or booking cutoff is published. Airport-only check-in; arrive ≥2 hours early. UK/UAE/Qatar ordinary-pet routes are excluded.

Per-flight EUR fees: within Serbia or between Serbia and Montenegro/Bosnia and Herzegovina/North Macedonia/Croatia/Slovenia 40; Russia 100; other Europe 70; Middle East/Africa 80; USA/Canada/China 130. Nontransferable; refundable only if Air Serbia cancels or cannot provide service.

3. Cargo and hold questions

Air Serbia Cargo advertises live-animal shipments separately. This is not confirmation that a pet can be checked with a passenger ticket. Request a written shipment plan and quote; a public pet-specific tariff, booking cutoff, species-sharing rule and flight animal quota were not established.

The ERJ190-200 cargo page requires contact with Cargo customer service for live animals: cargo_booking@airserbia.com. Confirm actual aircraft, animal, kennel, destination handling, seasonal restrictions and delivery time before committing.

4. General guide-dog policy

The general guide-dog page covers visual/hearing assistance, free in cabin. Notify at booking with breed and weight; obtain approval and a confirmed passenger reservation. Dogs per flight are limited, without a published numeric quota or per-passenger maximum. Present a competent institution’s training certificate at check-in; arrive at least two hours early.

No named ADI/IGDF organization list or owner-training alternative is published here. Ask which institution and evidence qualify for your route; do not assume membership alone resolves acceptance. The dog must be muzzled, remain at your feet without a carrier, and never occupy a seat. Dangerous, aggressive or malodorous dogs are excluded. A separate leash requirement was not established on this page.

The page excludes Great Britain and unspecified countries with strict restrictions. Obtain route-specific clarification; this is not a list of government bans. Use the separate U.S. section below for U.S. flights.

5. U.S. service-dog policy

Air Serbia-operated U.S. flights accept up to two disability-task-trained dogs free, including psychiatric service dogs. Emotional support alone uses paid pet carriage. Notify at least 48 hours ahead; booking is not online.

Send ≥48 hours ahead: DOT Air Transportation and, for flights ≥8 hours, Relief Attestation forms to callcenter@airserbia.com. Complete them on/after ticket purchase and carry copies. Bookings within 48 hours allow gate submission with reasonable accommodation efforts.

Maintain direct control with harness/leash/tether; uncontrolled behavior can cause refusal. Arrange a handler if you cannot maintain tether control. Fit the dog at your feet, underseat or on your lap without invading adjacent space; no passenger seat, exit row or obstructed aisle. Discuss size/weight and extra space: an additional seat may cost extra, or available same-class reseating may help. The U.S. page does not specify a muzzle requirement; clarify its relationship with general guidance.

No airline accreditation list established; see U.S. training/owner-training guidance below.

6. Canada: resolve published inconsistencies

Canada needs additional confirmation. Rule 1 defines service dogs by disability-task training from a specialist organization or person; confirm acceptable evidence. A search-indexed January 19, 2026 tariff contains unfinished template fields in Rule 69’s service-dog documentation and restraint provisions. It therefore does not resolve accepted training organizations or owner-trained evidence. Do not treat blank fields as permission.

Rule 75 allows one cabin animal per passenger. It lists CAD 210 each way between Serbia and Canada. Ask which charge, currency and animal count apply to your booking.

The tariff marks checked animals inapplicable but later directs oversize cabin animals to checked baggage. This internal conflict does not establish an available hold service. Obtain written product-specific acceptance before relying on any hold option.

7. Government entry is separate

This guide does not independently verify government entry rules. Check official authorities for origin, destination and transit: identification, vaccination, certificates, permits and inspection arrangements may need separate preparation. An airline approval does not replace government permission.

Start with the existing U.S. entry reference where relevant. Ask the airline to resolve its own restrictions separately from the authorities’ requirements.

8. Obtain a complete confirmation

Request confirmation of the exact service, accepted documents and trainer evidence, each flight’s available animal space, placement, restraints, total charges, cancellation terms and check-in arrangements. Do not assume ordinary-pet limits or a rule for one country applies to every service-dog journey.
