Independent preparation guidance covering selected planning points. This is not booking approval or a complete airline or border-entry checklist.
1. Prepare your request
Start with a route worksheet: dates, every flight number and operator, stopovers, traveler and animal details, and the equipment you propose to use. Keep unanswered questions visible. Ask the accepting office to record its decision for each sector before making non-refundable commitments.
Keep airline approval, government clearance and animal welfare in separate parts of the plan. Arrange a veterinary discussion of suitability for the proposed journey. Use the existing carrier guide to organize your measurements, and read the linked airline documents in full before submitting them.
2. Pets
Soft bag: ≤55×40×23 cm; ≤8 kg including animals; room to stand, turn and lie naturally. Maximum two animals per person/bag. Ordinary pets excluded to/from Dubai, Marsa Alam, Keflavík, UK and Ireland. Bring the form to check-in. Register online or telephone. Confirm mixing, flight quota and booking cutoff.
Keep a copy of the response with the booking, and verify what happens if your itinerary changes. For the previously reviewed overview and fee context, open the directory entry.
3. Assistance
Recognised assistance dogs travel free in the cabin. The pet FAQ permits one assistance dog per flight, except U.S. routes.
Register at least 48 hours ahead; await confirmation. Supply government recognition/ID, an ADI/ADEu/IGDF-accredited facility’s training certificate, or another training facility’s certificate stating training, tasks, duration and location; add your signed compliance statement. Emotional-support dogs follow pet rules.
The Austrian-German page rejects self-learning/online portals; English omits this. Individual/owner-training acceptance needs route-specific confirmation. English specifies a lead; Austrian-German specifies a harness. Bring a muzzle; keep the dog obedient, off seats and clear of aisles/exits.
Smartwings-operated EW3010–EW3349 are excluded from the assistance page’s general scope. Ask about U.S.-route documents and actual accommodation.
The questionnaire requests breed, weight, height, tasks and an official training certificate. Email it to assistance@eurowings.com. Clarify the attachment if relying on government recognition.

4. Contact
The contact page accepts assistance-form uploads. English call centre: +49 (0)221 599 882 22, daily 06:00–24:00 CET. Its medical-help tip says more than 72 hours; ask whether additional medical handling applies.
Send the information needed for the question you are asking. Keep your submission, any acknowledgement and the final decision together. An automated receipt should be followed through to the actual response before you rely on the arrangement.
5. Confirm the quotation
Request a written price for the complete itinerary. Record currency, included services, payment dates and the consequences of changes or cancellation. Resolve unclear items before payment, and keep the quotation alongside the accepted travel arrangement.
6. Check entry separately
Build a separate destination and transit checklist using the existing country guides and service-dog reference. Verify the current requirements with the responsible authorities and your official veterinarian. Match the instructions to the animal’s origin, history and actual route; keep document validity dates and inspection arrangements in your travel file.
7. Keep the decisions together
Before departure, assemble the confirmed itinerary, written decisions, submitted forms, required originals, payment records and responsible-office contacts. Review the file after any schedule or operator change. Give everyone helping with the journey the current version rather than relying on an earlier plan.
