Independent planning guidance, not a booking confirmation or complete government-entry checklist.
1. Prepare the journey
Start with every operating flight, animal species, breed, age, weight and external container measurements. Seek acceptance before buying a non-refundable ticket. Keep government documents and airline approval as separate parts of your journey file.
2. Cabin and checked-hold pets
Cabin: dogs, cats and birds; 8 kg including a ventilated solid carrier, 55 × 40 × 20 cm. Declare at booking; Manage my booking offers pet requests. Hold: secure, watertight, ventilated crate; no hay/straw; snub-nosed animals prohibited.
Source: RAM: pets. Checked October 16, 2026.
The baggage page describes ventilated bags and covered bird cages. This does not settle soft-carrier acceptance. Obtain confirmation of your exact carrier construction and dimensions before purchasing it.

The trade portal specifies one cabin pet per passenger. For hold carriage it states one per passenger, exceptionally two compatible adult cats/dogs accustomed to living together, comparably sized and each no heavier than 14 kg, sharing a container; heavier animals need separate crates. The combined hold limit is 70 kg.

Ask separately about flight quotas, available slots, per-passenger limits, container counts and species sharing. Include every animal in the request. Also ask about minimum age, breed and aircraft suitability before paying.
3. Fees and commercial terms
See the route/weight fee table: cabin from MAD 290; hold MAD 580–5180. Confirm international pricing.
The fee table includes 70 kg; accompanying text says below 70 kg. Resolve this boundary.

Request the total in the payment currency, including connections, taxes and handling; ask whether each flight is charged separately and what happens after cancellation or rebooking. A published price does not confirm available space.
4. Resolve route and transfer conflicts
The consumer page permits Gatwick cabin departures but excludes other UK pet travel and UAE-bound pets. Its connection instructions conflict: short-connection through-checking versus collection/recheck and over two hours.
Source: RAM: pets. Checked October 16, 2026.
The trade portal instead names Heathrow for cabin departures and describes outbound UK hold exceptions. It also lists hamsters/guinea pigs for hold travel but directs rodents to cargo. Obtain route-specific written clarification.
Source: RAM: agents. Checked October 16, 2026.
For each connection, request the exact handover/collection arrangements and any landside entry requirements. Include partner-operated flights in your acceptance review.
5. Arrange freight separately
Cargo Live is a separate live-animal freight product, covering pets and other animals subject to IATA live-animal and government requirements. Its public product page does not provide a pet tariff, booking cutoff, container-sharing rules or flight quota.
Source: RAM: cargo. Checked October 16, 2026.
Ask cargo@royalairmaroc.com for a quote and acceptance review. Specify species, breed, measurements, combined weight, origin, destination and proposed dates. Request the all-in charge, document deadline, terminal handover time, collection arrangements and restrictions. Passenger-pet fees are not a cargo quote.

6. Service-dog training and route recognition
The trade portal asks for a declaration of specialist training at booking and departure proof identifying the handler and individual training. Report the dog at least 48 working hours before departure for validation. No accreditor list was established.
Source: RAM: agents. Checked October 16, 2026.
Prepare a route-by-route list of questions about recognition, documents and assessment. Identify any owner-training history when requesting an eligibility review. Include Morocco, Canada, UK and European segments where relevant; ask about arrival arrangements separately.
For U.S.-covered flights, consult our U.S. service-dog guidance and DOT forms guidance.
7. Documents, booking and timing
For U.S. service-dog flights, RAM requests DOT forms 48 hours ahead when booked earlier; later bookings present them at the gate.
Source: RAM: pets. Checked October 16, 2026.
The disability page asks for 48 hours’ notice and lists the DOT Air Transportation and Relief Attestation forms for U.S. flights. It also requests a medical disability certificate for visually/hearing-impaired handlers. This wording needs route-specific clarification, particularly against U.S. documentation limits; do not treat it as a universal medical-certificate requirement.
Use the page’s special-assistance form or telephone +212 522 48 97 51. Confirm the document-submission destination and obtain acceptance; completing a general assistance request does not itself establish that the dog is booked.
Ask which forms apply to each segment and whether relief documentation is needed for its scheduled duration. The airline’s public wording does not explain that threshold here; follow the linked hub and request clarification.
Allow time for review before committing. Ask about dog count, leash/tether arrangements, behavior and refusal standards, training records, each dog’s tasks and space requirements.

8. ESA wording, equipment and cabin placement
The cabin-baggage page says blind/deaf assistance dogs must be harnessed and muzzled. It also lists emotional/psychiatric support dogs without a complete eligibility or route process. That mention is insufficient to promise ESA acceptance, free carriage or service-dog status. Obtain current route-specific terms; do not conflate emotional support with disability-task training. Ask whether the published muzzle wording applies to your assistance dog and route, rather than extending it to every service dog.

The onboard page describes free service-dog cabin travel, subject to acceptance, with the dog at your feet. If it cannot fit there, staff will offer another seat location where it can be accommodated; emergency exits must remain clear. This does not promise a free additional seat or permission for the dog to occupy a passenger seat.
Source: RAM: onboard. Checked October 16, 2026.
RAM’s airport guidance offers a bulkhead seat on request for service-dog travel, excludes emergency-exit rows and describes escort to a relief area when needed. Ask staff about relief access and boarding assistance.

9. Check government entry separately
Airline acceptance is separate from government permission. Verify current origin, destination and transit requirements with the responsible authorities, including identification, vaccination sequence, certificates, permits and arrival inspection. Do not use the airline’s short country summaries as a complete import checklist. For the United States, see our existing entry-pathway guidance. This guide does not independently establish government eligibility.
10. Before committing to travel
Before committing, obtain a record naming the dog or pet, approved container or cabin placement, operating flights, booking status, documents, submission deadline, fees and airport arrangements. Keep unresolved questions visible. A request, payment or certificate alone does not guarantee carriage.
