Prepare your journey
with Smartwings.

Resolve the arrangement before committing to travel.

Independent preparation guidance covering selected planning points. This is not booking approval or a complete airline or border-entry checklist.

1. Prepare your request

Start with one itinerary worksheet: dates, every flight number and operator, connections, traveler and animal details, and proposed equipment. Record unanswered questions alongside the office responsible for answering them. Ask for a decision covering each sector before making non-refundable commitments.

Keep airline acceptance, government clearance and travel welfare in separate parts of the plan. Discuss the proposed journey with your veterinarian. Use the carrier guide to organize measurements, and read the airline documents in full before submitting anything.

2. Pets

Book ≥48 hours ahead by phone, or via your holiday agency. Each animal needs its own carrier. Resolve flight/passenger quotas. Check route/operator exclusions, including Dubai-direction and cat-disinfection restrictions.

Use the directory entry for the earlier overview and fee examples. Keep the final quotation and the accepted arrangement together, and ask what needs to be reviewed after an itinerary change.

3. Assistance

Group policy (excluding Hungary): guide/service dogs: free cabin travel without a crate or pet weight cap; training certificate, travel documents, harness and leash; muzzle recommended.

Notify the contact centre or tour operator when booking. The group conditions exclude Smartwings Hungary; request its separate rules. This review did not establish accepted training organizations, owner-training pathways, emotional-support acceptance, dog-specific forms, a dog count or a dog-specific booking cutoff. Ask for written route-specific decisions on those points, cabin placement, behaviour and restraints. Do not assume that wheelchair timing establishes the dog’s approval deadline.

For background, use the existing training reference, UK and Europe reference, and forms reference. These are planning resources; carry the decision for your own itinerary rather than relying on another traveler’s experience.

4. Contact

Use Smartwings’ future-trip contact form or reservation centre: +420 284 000 612, daily 08:00–20:00 CET. Its forms directory lists MEDIF, but this review did not identify a dedicated dog application. Ask which submission channel and documents apply.

Keep your request, acknowledgement and final response together. Ask the receiving office to identify any outstanding item and who will decide it. Check the answer against the route worksheet so that an unresolved connection or return sector does not disappear from the plan.

5. Confirm the quotation

Request a written total for the complete itinerary. Record the currency, included services, payment dates and consequences of changes or cancellation. Keep any unresolved charges visible before payment, and distinguish the airline’s charges from other services you arrange.

6. Check entry separately

Build a separate destination and transit checklist using the existing country guides and service-dog reference. Verify current instructions with the responsible authorities and your official veterinarian. Match them to the animal’s origin, history and actual route, then record document validity dates and inspection arrangements.

7. Keep the decisions together

Before departure, assemble the current itinerary, written decisions, submitted forms, required originals, payment records and responsible-office contacts. Review the file after a schedule or operator change. Make sure everyone helping with the journey has the current version.
