Which certificates are accepted?
The Cayman Islands Department of Agriculture has clarified certification for dogs and cats arriving from the United States under the changes effective October 1, 2026.
A USDA-accredited veterinarian may still sign the health certificate by hand. USDA/APHIS endorsement is optional; endorsed certificates remain acceptable. The department also accepts updated formats supporting digital signatures when the applicable import requirements are met.
What to check before departure
Use the department’s latest instructions with your veterinarian and confirm the remaining import conditions. This clarification concerns certification and does not waive those conditions.
The notice does not display a publication date. October 1 is the stated effective date; October 10 is our publication and verification date.
