PETS DELIVERY EXPERT

Plan pet travel
on Air Europa.

Check the details that decide whether your animal can travel before committing to the journey.

An independent planning guide, not an exhaustive airline policy or government entry checklist. Unresolved official-source conflicts are identified explicitly.

1. Request the animal booking early

The FAQ points to Manage your booking and Customer Service; flight conditions direct advance pet bookings to the Call Centre. Confirm the appropriate channel for your cabin or hold request, and obtain explicit acceptance rather than assuming the online process completes every case. Cabin-pet passengers check in at airport counters.

A universal ordinary-pet booking deadline was not verified. Ask when the request must be made, when acceptance becomes confirmed and which check-in deadline applies to your airport. A passenger ticket or submitted request is not evidence of confirmed animal space.

2. Measure the cabin carrier

Cabin dogs/cats: 8 kg animal-only, 10 kg loaded; soft 40 × 30 × 30 cm underseat carrier, allowing natural movement.

Do not judge fit from weight alone. Have Air Europa confirm the cabin class, seat and actual carrier before paying.

3. Distinguish checked hold from cargo

Hold: 50 kg loaded maximum; rigid ventilated carrier, metal door. UK pets use Cargo. Cabin/hold minimum age: three months.

The FAQ also directs other species to Cargo. Its reference to another species travelling in the hold does not establish acceptance as passenger checked baggage.

Cargo pricing, handover arrangements and booking cutoffs were not verified. Obtain a shipment-specific proposal rather than applying passenger-pet rules to cargo.

4. Confirm the complete animal group

Passenger maximum: five pets across cabin/hold. Cabin carrier: three same-species animals, within size/weight limits. Hold-sharing conditions are published.

No numeric flightwide quota or cross-container species-incompatibility rule was verified. Ask about all animals together, available cabin/hold places, permitted carrier count and any separation requirements. Request explicit shared-carrier approval for each animal group.

5. Obtain the applicable total

The pet page labels cabin/hold service non-refundable; tax surcharges may apply.

The US flight-conditions page has a different fee table. It also excludes live animals from baggage allowance and requires advance booking. The differing tables do not establish a reliable all-in quote for your journey.

Ask which price applies to the exact route, how shared carriers are charged, whether each flight is charged separately, what taxes apply and whether any exception covers airline cancellation. Do not budget from the lowest displayed amount.

6. Recheck date, cabin and route

Pets: no long-haul Business or 787 short/medium-haul Business. Hold Madrid connections: June 1–September 15 inclusive, 11:00–20:00 restriction.

The source does not identify the timezone or whether that window applies to arrival, departure or any connection overlap. Ask Air Europa to interpret it for the actual flights. Have the route, aircraft and weather restrictions reviewed. Airline acceptance does not replace government entry permission. Prepare a plan for a schedule or aircraft change before departure.

7. Resolve the brachycephalic contradiction

The English main brachycephalic subsection allows 10 kg loaded. Breed lists differ.

English and Spanish FAQs specify under 8 kg loaded, with hold excluded above 8 kg. Precedence and exactly-8-kg eligibility remain unresolved.

Request written confirmation for the exact breed/crossbreed, animal-only weight and carrier-loaded weight. Get explicit breed-specific acceptance. Pets Delivery Expert plans brachycephalic journeys in the cabin only.

8. Use the separate service-dog process

Recognised task-trained service dogs have a separate, free cabin process. Emotional-support animals, other species and dogs in training use ordinary pet conditions. Contact Customer Service preferably at least 48 hours before departure; this is not a verified ordinary-pet booking deadline.

The dedicated page requires training/accreditation evidence, appropriate behaviour and a harness. Dogs must be at least six months old; normally one service animal per person, subject to applicable regulations. Safe cabin fit remains necessary and final approval occurs at the airport.

US routes require the DOT air-travel form; scheduled flights of eight hours or more also require the relief attestation. UK routes require advance arrangements and reception-centre approval at least 72 hours before flight, with the pre-approval letter for boarding to the UK.

The US flight-conditions page instead says service animals are not permitted on UK routes. Obtain route-specific confirmation; do not silently apply that blanket exclusion or assume the dedicated-page pathway is automatically approved.
