Flying with a pet
on Pegasus Airlines.

1. Separate cabin, hold and route eligibility

Cabin service accepts cats/dogs; birds are domestic-only. Pet plus carrier must not exceed 8 kg. Pegasus prints 32 × 32 × 50 cm without naming the axes; confirm length, width and height rather than assuming their order.

Hold cats/dogs are restricted to domestic and North Cyprus flights in the General Rules. The English pet page’s blanket international-hold prohibition omits that North Cyprus exception. Obtain acceptance for the exact flight.

2. Book through the official channel

Contact Pegasus’s official Call Center immediately after buying the passenger ticket; General Rules also permit travel-agent requests. A consumer online pet-purchase path was not verified.

1. Give the reservation, species, breed, age, carrier measurements and total weight.
2. Request cabin or hold explicitly and check every connecting flight.
3. Ask for the accepted service and price in the reservation.
4. Recheck pet acceptance if flights or aircraft change.

The Turkish FAQ permits addition until check-in closes if quota remains. This is a last possible cutoff, not advice to leave booking until the airport.

3. Distinguish carriers from animals

The Turkish FAQ caps each flight at three PETC. Animals sharing a carrier count as one PETC. Domestic/North Cyprus hold capacity is up to three AVIH at a combined maximum 60 kg; above 60 kg, Airbus capacity falls to two.

Published sharing wording differs: the English pet page allows certain two-animal combinations, while General Rules restrict sharing to siblings or mother/offspring and exclude nursing young and their mothers. Ask Pegasus to approve ages and relationship. A universal per-passenger carrier limit was not verified.

4. Screen breed, age and destination before payment

Pets under three months are excluded. Restricted breeds include Rottweiler, Dobermann, Chow Chow and several fighting/guard breeds; check the complete list, including crosses, with Pegasus. Kangal dogs are accepted only up to six months.

The pet page excludes travel to Bahrain/UAE/Qatar and both directions for Ireland/Saudi Arabia/UK. General Rules use broader both-direction wording for several Gulf routes. Treat the discrepancy as unresolved and request confirmation before booking either direction.

Write the full breed name exactly as shown in the animal’s documents. Do not infer acceptance from another owner’s experience or from an absent example in a non-exhaustive list.

5. Use the current route-specific tariff

Published service-table amounts: domestic cabin TRY 750; hold over 8–15 kg TRY 850, over 15 kg TRY 950. International cabin EUR 65. North Cyprus cabin TRY 900; hold over 8–15 kg TRY 1,000, over 15 kg TRY 1,100.

These are the table’s route-category amounts, not a complete connecting-itinerary quotation. Confirm collection currency, segment charging, tax treatment and refund/change conditions with Pegasus. A price row is not proof that an otherwise restricted route accepts the animal.

6. Prepare the carrier and document check

The Turkish FAQ requires the animal and documents at the counter. It distinguishes domestic travel, where rabies titration is not required, from applicable international requirements; North Cyprus requires an import licence. Do not apply the English page’s general titration wording to every domestic trip.

For hold carriage, General Rules require secure locking, three-sided ventilation and enough space to stand, turn and lie down. A universal hold-crate dimensional or individual loaded-weight ceiling was not verified.

Ask the airline for your airport’s check-in deadline and recommended arrival time. Bring original documents, the pet confirmation and a copy of any written exception or clarification. Practise calmly entering and remaining in the carrier before travel.

7. Guide animals are a separate category

General Rules describe guide animals for passengers with visual or hearing impairments: free cabin carriage, no cage, floor position beside the passenger, and separate evidence of guide status. Other pet restrictions continue except where expressly waived.

A broader psychiatric-service-dog pathway, dedicated form and guide-animal notice deadline were not verified. Ask Pegasus’s assistance team about the actual task-trained dog and route; do not assume emotional-support paperwork creates eligibility. The ordinary PETC booking route does not itself confirm assistance-animal acceptance.

Prepare your route for review

Send the cities, dates, animal’s breed and age, loaded carrier weight, outside carrier measurements and proposed operating flights. Include any airline acceptance already received. A useful proposal identifies who accompanies the animal, where each handover occurs, what is included and which costs remain separate. Request a transport proposal.
