Cabin eligibility
Cats/dogs must be weaned and older than eight weeks; under-14-week animals need a veterinary certificate. Maximum: 8 kg including a soft carrier, 40 × 25 × 23 cm, fitting under-seat. Each animal must stand, turn and lie comfortably and remain inside throughout. One carrier per traveler; up to two healthy same-species animals. It counts as your carry-on. No cabin pets on charters or in Business to/from North America/Asia. Arrive two hours early.

Book hold travel
Contact SAS Customer Service by 24 hours before departure. Cats/dogs only; maximum combined weight 50 kg. Dimensions depend on aircraft. Use an escape-proof IATA-compliant container with standing, turning and lying space. After confirmation, bring two transportation certificates, except on domestic Denmark/Norway/Sweden flights.

Published euro fees
Cabin/hold: domestic €55/€90; Scandinavia-Europe-Middle East €75/€169; Asia-Canada-US €99/€340; China €149/€725. SAS uses flight-based and one-way-container wording: obtain an itinerary quote. Prices do not establish route acceptance.

Resolve route restrictions
SAS directs China-, UK- and UAE-bound pets to cargo, despite its China passenger-service prices. Confirm the service before buying. Ordinary cabin/checked pets are prohibited both to and from the UK; certified service animals have an exception. SAS excludes US-bound dogs, including service dogs, that have been in a high-risk rabies country within the previous six months.

Cargo is separately arranged
Use a specialist freight forwarder. SAS Cargo cannot assess requests earlier than 14 days before departure. This opens the assessment window; it is not a booking deadline or guarantee. Not every flight accepts animals. Obtain cargo-specific fees, acceptance and handover instructions; passenger-service terms do not establish cargo terms.

Questions before paying
Ask for written confirmation of animal space, aircraft compatibility, the exact breed and container, multiple-animal arrangements, total price and cancellation terms. Check destination entry requirements separately. This bounded review does not establish a complete country-entry checklist, service-dog policy, operating-carrier exceptions or pet-fee refund schedule.
