EVA Air changes checked-pet charges: check both ticket and travel dates
EVA’s updated fees apply from September 29, while some older tickets retain the previous pet piece-count calculation through March 31, 2027.

A change to the airline charge
EVA Air announced revised international baggage fees on September 3, including charges for accompanied pets traveling as checked baggage. The updated fee schedule applies to departures from September 29, 2026.
The new pet calculation uses the combined weight of the animal and crate: two excess-baggage units up to 23 kg, three above 23 kg through 32 kg, and four above 32 kg through 45 kg. Confirm the applicable route rate with EVA. These are airline charges; a managed relocation quote also depends on the services arranged.

Older tickets need a separate check
EVA’s announcement preserves the previous pet piece-count calculation for tickets issued or reissued by September 28 when travel takes place by March 31, 2027. The updated fee schedule still applies to departures from September 29. For tickets issued or reissued on or after September 29, 2026, or travel after that transition, use the updated rules.
The advertised advance-payment baggage discount excludes pet transport. Ask EVA to confirm the charge against the current ticket, flight date and combined pet-and-crate weight.

Confirm acceptance before budgeting
A fee calculation does not reserve a pet place. Aircraft, route and breed restrictions still apply, and EVA asks for pet requests at least 48 hours before departure.
