Ural Cargo retains paper waybills for pets during its electronic transition

An August 28 notice lists live animals and pets among the cargo categories that continue using paper air waybills when the September 1 electronic transition begins.

Keep the pet-shipment paperwork in scope

Ural Cargo’s notice published August 28, 2026 describes a September 1 transition to electronic air waybills for commercial cargo transportation within Russia. It expressly lists live animals, including pets, among the exceptions for which air waybills continue to be issued on paper.

For a pet shipment arranged with Ural Cargo, do not assume that the general electronic transition removes the paper-waybill step.

Confirm the individual cargo booking

The notice addresses cargo documentation. It does not announce new cabin or checked-pet acceptance, or remove veterinary and destination requirements.

Ask the cargo team or appointed agent to confirm the document set for the animal, crate and complete itinerary. Keep the approved booking and handling instructions together, including where the pet must be delivered and collected.
