An independent planning guide from Pets Delivery Expert. Airline acceptance and government permission must be established for the individual journey.
1. Establish the transport format
Aircalin carries ordinary pets by airfreight. Its cabin exception is limited to eligible guide dogs for visually or hearing-impaired passengers. Contact Aircalin’s sales office for that assessment.
The page’s nearby hold notice does not establish a checked-baggage pet service.

2. Identify the booking and handover teams
Aircalin directs shipment bookings to a forwarder; freight has its own air waybill. Acceptance depends on suitable equipment and capacity.
Ask who submits the booking and who provides shipment confirmation. Record the pet’s itinerary separately: operating airline, transfer airport, arrival terminal and receiving contact. What happens if either itinerary changes? An advertised destination alone cannot answer those questions.

3. Work backwards from a realistic departure
For New Caledonia departures to France, Aircalin says to begin cargo arrangements three months ahead and deliver the animal to Tontouta’s freight terminal at least four hours before departure.
Ask for a dated preparation plan for your direction of travel. Identify the step that controls the departure date before paying for inflexible tickets.

4. Resolve New Caledonia entry early
DAVAR requires an import permit, health certification specific to the country of origin and public quarantine for dogs and cats entering New Caledonia. Direct import is restricted to permitted origins.
Start with the authority’s instructions for your pet’s origin. Ask SIVAP which protocol applies, when documents must be completed and whether quarantine space fits your proposed arrival. Align the shipment date with those answers; check onward and return journeys separately.

5. Check the animal, crate and complete price
Aircalin’s freight conditions exclude Pit Bulls and require veterinary certification for dogs and cats over ten years old.
Send crate measurements and photographs before purchase. Ask who checks documents, receives the animal and handles delays. Request a written quote covering currency, transport, handling, collection or delivery, exclusions and cancellation terms.

Arrange an individual journey
Pets Delivery Expert’s service for brachycephalic dogs is cabin-only, through individually assessed commercial-flight or private-flight arrangements. This guide does not establish an Aircalin cabin option for those dogs.
For an individual transport review, send your route, preferred dates, pet’s breed, age and weight, plus any existing airline correspondence. Request a route review.
Questions before you book
Does my passenger booking reserve space for my pet?
Arrange and confirm the freight shipment separately. Ask for its booking reference and the air waybill arrangements before relying on a passenger itinerary.
