Build the journey around the final destination
Start with the city where your pet needs to be received, rather than choosing a flight in isolation. We assess the arrival point, any onward journey and the handover you need as one transport plan.
The agreed service can include:
- Route and flight arrangements, including connections and pet acceptance.
- Preparation schedules and travel-document coordination.
- Travel-container arrangements for the proposed format.
- Departure and arrival handovers, with collection or onward delivery where included.
- The receiving arrangements, document handover and planned contact points.
Your proposal identifies the providers responsible for each stage and where our service starts and finishes. We manage the complete agreed transport; airlines operate flights, veterinarians carry out veterinary work and authorities make official approval decisions.
Bringing your pet to Switzerland
Swiss entry requirements need their own assessment. Tell us the departure country, any connections, your pet's available records and whether ownership will change. The Federal Food Safety and Veterinary Office, FSVO, distinguishes travel with your own pet from movements involving transfer to another person or institution.
For arrivals from outside the EU, the country's rabies status affects the preparation. The permitted arrival arrangements also differ between accompanied travel and an unaccompanied air shipment. We check the applicable pathway before finalizing the route.
If the journey includes an EU airport or onward travel across a border, include that in the initial request. We assess those stages alongside the Swiss destination and the agreed receiving arrangements.

Tell us whether you will accompany your pet, arrive separately or remain elsewhere. Under the applicable Swiss pet-travel procedure, the owner's timing and authorization can matter. A pet flying separately needs the correct entry arrangements as well as an accepted flight.
We assess the actual circumstances before recommending a transport format. Share your dates even if you have already moved, and tell us whether the journey involves a sale, adoption or other change of ownership.
For the agreed journey, we coordinate the departure contact, receiving person and original-document handover. You can ask us to assess a move without the owner traveling; the available service depends on the applicable procedure and route.
Moving a dog or cat from Switzerland
For a departure from Switzerland, we start with the destination country, final city and proposed dates. The receiving country's entry conditions shape the preparation and flight plan. Any connections or later return to Switzerland also belong in the assessment.
Where a veterinary certificate is needed for departure, the responsible cantonal veterinary service is the Swiss contact. We coordinate the document timetable with the agreed transport arrangements.
