Independent planning guidance for AJet, not Arajet or a substitute for Turkish Airlines rules. This is not an acceptance decision, legal advice or a complete country-entry checklist.
Choose the right travel arrangement
Ordinary cabin pet (PETC): AJet accepts eligible cats, dogs, budgerigars and canaries in a soft carrier, with the animals and carrier together weighing no more than 8 kg. The carrier limit is 23 cm high × 30 cm wide × 40 cm long. Route, space, age and document conditions still apply.
Accompanied hold animal (AVIH): unavailable on domestic and international flights for bookings made on or after 1 September 2025. The Turkish page also names ticketing on or after that date. Earlier bookings through 31 August 2025 are only potentially eligible, depending on aircraft availability. This is a booking/ticketing-date rule, not simply a departure-date cutoff.
Task-trained service dog (SVAN): a separate cabin process, free when accepted, requiring reservation approval at least 48 hours before departure. Emotional support alone is not a reliable route into this category.
Unaccompanied cargo: no current AJet live-animal cargo booking product was verified in the reviewed sources. Do not treat the AVIH restriction, a passenger ticket or a Turkish Cargo service as proof that AJet can ship the animal.

Check the operating airline, not just the brand
This guide concerns AJet Hava Taşımacılığı Anonim Şirketi. Its current About Us page identifies the brand legacy inherited from AnadoluJet. AJet is not Arajet; Turkish Airlines pet rules must not be substituted for AJet rules.
List every operating carrier, flight, airport, connection and return sector. AJet’s general conditions say operating-carrier requirements can differ on codeshares, including animal acceptance. Ask who must approve the animal on each sector and recheck after an operator, flight or aircraft change.

Obtain an approved animal reservation
For an ordinary pet, the policy requires a call-centre reservation and approval no later than six hours before departure. Request space before committing to a nonrefundable itinerary, not at that last deadline. Provide species, exact breed or cross, age, number of animals, carrier dimensions and total loaded weight.
Use AJet’s official contact page to find the current contact channels; confirm how to reach the reservation service from your departure country. It distinguishes paid reservation/additional-service sales from free general-information channels. Ask for written confirmation of the animal service on every flight, including the return.
The special-conditions section, in a paragraph discussing service-dog documents, also calls for documents to be presented 48 hours before the flight according to destination requirements. Its application to every ordinary-pet booking is not explicit. SVAN reservation approval itself is required at least 48 hours before departure. Resolve the submission route and document deadline early rather than assuming the ordinary-pet six-hour deadline covers paperwork.
The general conditions mention possible station approval when an animal has no confirmed reservation, subject to capacity. Do not plan around that discretion: it neither guarantees acceptance nor establishes an exception to the current AVIH restriction.

Measure the animal and the loaded soft carrier
AJet requires a purpose-made soft-sided carrier, maximum 23 × 30 × 40 cm in height/width/length order, placed under the seat in front. The 8 kg maximum includes the animal or animals and the carrier. An animal must still be able to stand, turn around and lie comfortably; matching the outside dimensions alone is insufficient.
Bring your own carrier. It must have ventilation and waterproof, leak-resistant construction. The Turkish policy specifies ventilation holes of 2.5 cm diameter on at least three sides and says carrier doors/zips must remain closed throughout the flight. The English ventilation sentence is mistranslated, so confirm the specific carrier design with AJet before purchase.
Ordinary-pet passengers use an appropriate window seat with a seat ahead. Exit rows and rows with a bassinet-fitting bulkhead are excluded. Label the carrier with the passenger’s name, address and telephone number, plus the animal count and pet name.

One carrier is not the same as one animal
AJet publishes a maximum of one pet carrier per passenger. Two cats, two dogs or two eligible birds can share that carrier only when they are the same species, accustomed to living together, and fit within the single carrier’s 8 kg total and 23 × 30 × 40 cm limits.
The English page also retains a paragraph about three same-mother kittens/puppies aged 10–24 weeks, and larger same-species animals sharing crates at up to 14 kg each for dogs or 10 kg each for cats. Those provisions are absent from the Turkish page and are not reconciled with the cabin limits or AVIH cutoff. Do not use them to book three cabin animals, an overweight carrier or new hold transport; obtain a written ruling for the exact case.
The cabin-pet quota depends on aircraft type; no numeric aircraft-wide PETC limit is published in the reviewed text. Cats cannot share an aircraft with dogs or birds, even in separate cabins. Dogs and birds must be separated by cabin or placed as far apart as possible. Allergy conflicts are handled by reservation priority under the published policy.
No verified combined allowance was found for PETC plus SVAN or a historical AVIH booking. Ask about each animal, the total personal allowance and the flight quota; a second mode is not an automatic additional entitlement.

Check age, health and breed before buying
Only cats, dogs, budgerigars and canaries are listed as ordinary cabin pets. Other small bird species are excluded. Pets must be microchipped and appear healthy, clean and calm. Pregnant animals, unweaned kittens/puppies, nursing mothers and kittens/puppies younger than ten weeks are excluded.
For the 10–12-week age range, the English page requires veterinary permission for kittens and puppies; the Turkish page specifically names cats older than ten and younger than twelve weeks. Have AJet resolve the species and exact-age boundary in writing. Rabies timing and destination rules can make the practical travel age later; the ten-week threshold alone does not establish eligibility.
AJet’s prohibited-dog list includes Bull Terrier, Staffordshire Bull Terrier, American Pit Bull Terrier, American Staffordshire Terrier, Pitbull Terrier, Japanese Tosa, Dogo Argentino, Fila Brasileiro, American Bully, American Bulldog, Bandog Tosa Inu, Caucasian Ovcharka, Dogue de Bordeaux, Doberman (all varieties), Presa Canario, Rottweiler, Mastiff except Bull Mastiff, wolf-dog hybrids, Anatolian Shepherd and Boerboel. The Turkish wording also excludes crosses of the listed breeds. Check the official spelling and your dog’s recorded breed with AJet; do not assume a cross is exempt.
The respiratory-risk list includes, among others, Persian and British Shorthair cats and Pugs, French/English Bulldogs and Boxers. AJet describes cabin carriage within the 8 kg and carrier-size limits, not an unrestricted waiver. Confirm the exact breed and obtain veterinary fitness advice. The page’s special export-permission wording for protected Turkish animals, including Sivas Kangal and Ankara/Van cats, does not override a breed or size restriction.

Separate route restrictions from border clearance
AJet does not accept ordinary cabin pets on flights to Bahrain or the United Arab Emirates, or on flights to or from the United Kingdom. These are AJet’s published PETC restrictions; they do not by themselves define the SVAN process or every country’s law.
Its policy requires a titration test for journeys containing an international destination, except Baku. It also says rabies vaccination shown in the cat/dog vaccination record must be at least 30 days and no more than one year before the flight. Treat these as airline-stated acceptance checks, not a universal legal vaccine-validity rule; ask about the precise species, direction, laboratory, timing and any valid booster.
Bring cat/dog identification and vaccination records, a bird flight certificate where applicable, and required health, entry and transit documents. AJet calls for a veterinary health certificate before travelling abroad from Türkiye. The page also gives additional Northern Cyprus checks, including an import permit, endorsed export health certificate, vaccination/identity records and rabies-antibody evidence. Confirm the current official requirements separately rather than treating the airline summary as a complete entry checklist.
For Saudi Arabia, AJet states that PETC and SVAN must travel with their owner, not another passenger acting for the owner, with health and vaccination certificates. Confirm this route with AJet and the responsible authority.
Check the responsible government authority for every origin, destination, transit and return. Establish identification, vaccinations, tests, permits, endorsement, arrival point and inspection arrangements. Airline approval does not grant entry or public-access rights.

Price the actual itinerary
The live English and Turkish fee tables checked on 23 October 2026 agree for PETC up to 8 kg: 750 TRY on domestic flights; 900 TRY on the Northern Cyprus category; 65 EUR on international flights from/to Türkiye; and 130 EUR in the airline’s beyond/international-to-international category.
AJet says a stopover or transfer splits the charge calculation before and after that point. Ask for a complete sector-by-sector quote, the applicable category, taxes, currency and whether two animals sharing an approved carrier change the price. Do not assume a displayed example is a whole-itinerary total. The page notes 10% VAT for departures from Iran without clearly resolving the final payable amount.
Pet transport is outside the free baggage allowance. The policy says purchased PETC service can be changed or refunded up to departure; confirm the process and distinguish the animal-service refund from the passenger ticket’s fare conditions. The Turkish introduction refers to airport payment, while English also mentions adding the service ahead of time. Ask how and when your confirmed service must be paid.

SVAN: arrange recognition, space and approval
AJet defines SVAN by individual training to perform tasks for a person with a disability, including medical-support, vision and hearing tasks. Accepted dogs travel in the cabin without a transport charge or a stated weight ceiling. Size and safe floor space still matter.
Reserve and obtain approval at least 48 hours before departure. The policy says a maximum of two SVAN are accepted on its flights and excludes them from the PETC quota. It does not expressly establish a two-dogs-per-passenger allowance. Confirm the personal count, remaining flight capacity and any combination with an ordinary pet.
The page requires training and certification, but the reviewed material does not identify a mandatory issuer, ADI/IGDF-only rule, accepted owner-training pathway or a dedicated AJet certificate form. Ask AJet what evidence it will accept for this dog and route. A purchased registration, vest or certificate alone is not verified proof of acceptance. No service-dog minimum age was verified; have AJet assess the actual age.
Carry complete vaccination, identity and route-entry documents at check-in and boarding. Ask where to submit the documents required 48 hours before travel. An inability to qualify as SVAN does not guarantee PETC carriage: the animal would still need the ordinary-pet size, species/breed, route, capacity and payment conditions.

Prepare control, hygiene and seating
The dog must be clean, wear an identifying vest and/or harness, and remain on the floor in front of the passenger’s feet. Its leash or harness extension must be attached to the passenger’s belt during flight. Dogs cannot sit on passenger seats. Carry a muzzle for behavioural contingencies such as barking or bared teeth; the wording does not require every dog to wear it continuously.
Aggression, hygiene concerns, obstruction of the aisle or another passenger’s space, inability to fit the floor space, safety risks or interference with service can lead to refusal. No published numeric floor-space dimensions were verified. Arrange the dog’s measurements and seating in advance.
The specific SVAN section excludes exit and bassinet rows. An earlier paragraph describes limited bassinet/wide-body seating exceptions, so obtain an assigned, approved seat rather than treating those exceptions as bookable permission.
AJet asks for documentation that the dog will not need to relieve itself or can do so hygienically. Its examples include a veterinarian’s statement; a written prevention plan; a signed statement with photographs/illustrations of hygienic toileting; and an undertaking to clean an accident. Ask which document or combination is required and present it to the check-in agent. Bring cleanup supplies. This is airline paperwork, not a reason to restrict water or medication without veterinary advice.

Do not confuse support status with task training
The Turkish policy expressly excludes psychological/emotional-support dogs from SVAN. The English version excludes therapy dogs but also retains an emotional-support-letter example inside its document paragraph. The language versions therefore do not establish a dependable emotional-support exception.
Ask AJet to assess actual disability-related task training and the exact documentation, rather than relabelling a pet. Emotional support by itself, therapy work and a mental-health letter should not be treated as confirmed free SVAN acceptance. Where the dog is an ordinary pet, the PETC rules apply.

Use the airport counter and plan each transfer
AJet’s service-eligibility table marks both PETC and SVAN as unavailable for online and kiosk check-in. Take the animal and original required documents to the staffed counter. The ordinary-pet policy requires inspection there with the accompanying passenger; approval can still be refused if requirements are not met.
The general FAQ says airport check-in closes 45 minutes before domestic departures and 60 minutes before international departures. These are completion deadlines, not recommended arrival times. Ask your departure airport for the animal-processing arrival time and allow for security, inspection and payment.
The general FAQ allows through check-in for connecting flights, but it does not establish a separate animal-transfer guarantee. Confirm animal acceptance on each leg, any change of operator or airport, reinspection or collection needs, border/transit conditions and the separately calculated charges. After disruption, reconfirm the animal’s space and documents before accepting a replacement itinerary.

Do not use old crate text as a cargo booking route
For a new booking, a pet over the cabin limit does not have a verified accompanied-hold fallback: the current AVIH restriction applies to both domestic and international bookings/ticketing from 1 September 2025. If you hold an older eligible booking, ask AJet to confirm the actual aircraft, crate, animal count, environmental restrictions and all handling arrangements. No current hold weight/dimension schedule was verified for that exceptional case.
The general carriage conditions still mention the aircraft cargo compartment, but make acceptance subject to carrier rules and prior agreement. That language is not a current unaccompanied-cargo product. No AJet live-animal cargo booking contact, air-waybill process or acceptance limits were verified. If cargo is needed, identify and confirm the actual accepting cargo carrier separately; do not transfer Turkish Airlines/Turkish Cargo rules to AJet.
