Pet Transport from the USA to Great Britain

For ordinary pets arriving in Great Britain by air, GOV.UK requires cargo travel. Exceptions include chartered private planes and qualifying guide or assistance dogs. A cabin allowance on another route does not establish eligibility for this arrival.

We assess the available arrangements for your pet and date before proposing a booking. If an itinerary enters the EU before a sea or rail crossing, both entries and the operator’s conditions need to be planned.

Specify the exact destination

London is not the same final handover as a home elsewhere in Britain. Tell us where your pet needs to be received and whether local transport is part of the service you need.

Northern Ireland follows a separate entry pathway. Specify it explicitly rather than selecting this Great Britain route.

Fit the documents to the arrival

Tell us your own arrival date, whether someone will accompany your pet and whether ownership is changing. Extra import rules apply, for example, if your pet arrives more than five days before or after you, or is being sold, rehomed or transferred to another owner.

We manage the preparation timetable as part of your pet’s transport, fitting the required veterinary work and documents to the confirmed journey. For dogs, the applicable tapeworm treatment window also needs to fit the arrival time.
